Important Note:

Because of the upcoming Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout, the starting dates of our next Tuesday and Saturday points series will be delayed. The new Tuesday series will begin on July 14th, with the Saturday series following on the 18th. Also, Jimmy wants to make all of our Short Course and Slash Spec racers aware that in the new series, the current tire rule will remain in effect - any tire that is specifically designed for Short Course trucks (Slash, SC10) will continue to be a legal tire for these classes.

Hot Rod Local wins National Championship

The ROAR electric off-road nationals were held this weekend in Omaha, Nebraska, and a Hot Rod Hobbies local has taken the national championship in Stock Truck! Brent Calvert, driving his Team Associated T4, had come just one point short of the title at last year's Nationals (held here at Hot Rod's)...but this time, he would not be denied!

Congratulations to Brent and all of his sponsors for a job well done! You can bet Brent will be competing at the Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout (July 10-12), as well...so if you want to test your mettle against a national champion, you'll have your chance next month!

Saturday Club Racing Winners: May-June!

Summer is officially here, and the action on the dirt track is heating up with the weather! After eight weeks of furious competition, the points have been tallied and our new off-road champions have been crowned. Off-Road Track Redesign & Contest!

The Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout is right around the corner, and that means it will be time to put in a brand new layout! Just as last year, Jimmy is holding a track design contest where the winner will be allowed free entry to the Shootout, for as many classes as he/she wishes to race! Entries should be e-mailed to Jimmy Babcock personally, at jimmy@hotrodhobbies.com, faxed to 661-255-2196 or mailed to the shop, ATTN: Shootout Track Redesign Contest.

The new layout will be put in on July 5th and as always, everyone who comes out to work on the track crew for the entire day will receive a free month of club racing, on Jimmy! We had a great turnout in March for the last rebuild, we hope to see you guys out there next month!

Spring Paved Oval Winners!

Six months of intense oval competition culminated in last Saturday's final race of the Hot Rod Hobbies oval racing series. The points have been tallied, and the results are in. Congratulations to the winners and everyone who participated - the new series starts on the first Sunday of July, so get ready!

Off-Road and Paved Oval Schedule Changes!

Just a reminder to our Saturday afternoon club racers...beginning this weekend (Saturday, June 6th), racing will begin at 4:00pm on Saturdays. This is a permanent time change!

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR OVAL RACERS!

Due to the JBRL Electric race this Sunday at Pegasus, the monthly Paved Oval racing has been moved to Saturday the 6th, instead of the normal Sunday schedule. Start time remains 10:00am.
